Osteomyelitis Remedies by Herbal Care Products
The main goals of treatment of osteomyelitis are eradication of the infection and limit the damage to the bone and the surrounding tissues. Antibiotic for 4-6 weeks are given to destroy the causative organisms completely and is given intravenously for the best effects. A PICC line or central venous catheter is often placed for this kind of administration of drug. Mostly only antibiotics are enough to treat the condition but surgical removal of the dead bone may be needed. The space left by removing the infected bone is filled by bone grafts or packing material. Infection occurring after joint replacement might need surgery to remove replaced joint and infected surrounding tissue. Surgical debridement may be required in severe cases.
