Latest Law for Modeling Agencies in NYC to Protect Under Age Models

If you are under the age of 18 and a model in New York a new state law is signed by the governor to protect models from being exploited. All modeling agencies in New York will have to follow the new stipulated law. State senators Jeffery D Klein, Diane Savino and Assembly man Steven Otis proposed this Bill and now the law of New York State.

Highlights of the new law are mentioned below:

• Modeling agencies in New York has to make sure that on a school night models should not be working from 10 PM till 5 AM in the night. All work should be completed early or before the stipulated time.
• On a non school night, models should not be working from 12:30 AM till 5:00 AM.
• A guardian, parent who is an adult should be in the room or location at all times with a model who is under the age of 16.
• A pediatric nurse should be present or accessible at all times during the shoot or event.
• People who hire young models should allow models to do their homework and set aside time during the shoot to finish the homework.
• An adult who is also the guardian or parent should have the complete details of the schedule of model ahead of time.
