Stainer German Violin Copy
This is an old German copy of a Stainer violin. It was passed down to me in my aunts estate and has been in the family at least 120 years... History prior to that I cannot provide. Label inside is typical Stainer paper label. Dated 1776 or 1796, Germany. The instrument is in very good condition, considering its age. It was used by one of my ancestral cousins in the early 1900s around 1910 best as I can determine. . It was appraised about 10 years ago for about 1200. Had it restrung and had it played...has very nice tone. The violin comes in a coffin case made of wood...
