The post Y2K versions of this guitar are made in Thailand and do not compare to this. The tone is sweet and loud due to the maple back and sides and the jumbo body. The fingerboard is ebony with mother of pearl crown inlays just as in the Gibson version and of course it sports the famous Gibson moustache bridge.
