Leica M8 recently serviced
Up for sale is my Leica M8. It was recently serviced by Leica NJ in 2012, and had new leather, new buttons, sensor pixel column alignment, and rangefinder adjustment performed. The LCD is perfect; no coffee stain, no rubbed spots, and has a screen protector. There is some very slight brassing if you look very hard for it, but it's certainly not evident from a casual glance.
I opted to stay with the 1/8000 shutter, so this camera has an advantage over the M9's 1/4000 in that you can get more bokeh under the same conditions and aperture.
This is truly a great camera. The (factory standard) lack of an IR filter is great for IR photography at hand-holdable speeds (I can send an example if you are interested), and it's really no problem to put an IR cut filter on your lens for color-correct color-photography. Another advantage of the lack of an IR filter is that your black and white conversions will be considerably warmer. This makes the M8 more versatile than the later M9 as far as that goes.
The colors that come out of this thing are fantastic; especially the reds. The Kodak sensor is unlike anything from Canon, Nikon, Ricoh, Fuji, etc... it's a different palette that just stands out.
Comes with strap, charger, 2 Leica brand batteries, and all books/software in original box and packaging.
No tire-kickers -- please have cash in hand.
